Henrik de Groot (1947), author of the Dutch book ‘Protocol, design of events’ is guest lecturer in protocol and trainer in personal presentation. He works for the Netherlands Governmental Academy, the Netherlands Institute for Foreign Relations Clingendael, the Netherlands Police Academy and the EU Academy for Civil Protection and Disaster Management. He also lectures abroad for the ministries of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and Bulgaria and acts as protocol advisor to International Criminal Court at The Hague.
Henrik de Groot retired in 2005 as Director of Protocol of several Vice-Prime Ministers of the Netherlands. His previously positions include Chef de Cabinet of the Lord Mayor of The Hague and deputy director-general of the Royal Theatre at The Hague. In total 25 years of protocol and event-management in the Netherlands seat of government.

Henrik appears regularly as protocol advisor on Dutch television. In 2010 and 2011 he played the role of the strict but understanding headmaster of the successful TV series about a finishing school for naughty girls. Henrik is a much appreciated guest in the popular Dutch TV-programme Blauw Bloed (Blue Blood, about Royalty, Heads of State and other VVIPs).
