For more than a decade Mark Verheul’s international career has been focused on protocol, diplomacy and strategic networking. He has coordinated many state visits, conferences with foreign dignitaries, round table discussions, national commemorations, social, cultural and sports events as well as numerous company visits. Mark Verheul’s expertise is combining content with logistics.
In his most recent position as Head of Protocol of the City of The Hague, Mark Verheul represented the city executive at diplomatic and business events in order to strengthen the image of The Hague as international city of peace and justice. Mark has worked for the Royal Hashemite Court in Jordan, the Royal Household of the Netherlands and the Protocolbureau in The Hague. Mark studied at the Hotelschool The Hague and obtained his Master’s degrees in International Relations & International Communication at the Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
Mark Verheul wrote ‘An Expert’s Guide to International Protocol‘ with Gilbert Monod de Froideville. Mark has given numerous lectures on intercultural communication, protocol and relationship management to colleagues, external clients and university students.
